In a groundbreaking collaboration aimed at tackling the challenge of energy efficiency in buildings, ENERGATE was thrilled to announce its joint initiative with InEExS and FORTESIE. This event, From Tech to Transformation: Accelerating Building Energy Efficiency through ICT Solutions, co-organised by these leading projects, unveiled a suite of innovative services, business models, and digital tools designed to revolutionize the sustainable renovation of buildings across the EU.

Our event focused on three primary areas:

  1. Energy Efficiency Initiatives: Highlighting the essential role of reducing energy consumption in buildings, the event aligned with the objectives of three EU-funded projects. These initiatives demonstrated the critical importance of minimising energy usage as a cornerstone for achieving a sustainable and efficient energy future.
  2. Advancements in ICT for Energy Efficiency: The digital revolution brought about a plethora of technological innovations that significantly aid in promoting energy efficiency. Our event showcased the latest ICT tools and platforms developed by our collaborative projects, providing insights into how these advancements can be leveraged to enhance energy efficiency in buildings.
  3. Tackling Challenges and Seizing Opportunities: From data collection and legal issues surrounding blockchain to the integration of multiple platforms, the event delved into the various challenges faced by stakeholders. Additionally, it explored the myriad of opportunities that arise from the energy transition, including consumption reduction and the engagement of stakeholders in a more streamlined and effective manner.

The ENERGATE project, at the forefront of this initiative, aimed to bridge the gap between market actors and energy efficiency improvements in buildings through an ICT-enabled marketplace. This platform was designed to facilitate the effective collection of project-related information, business matchmaking, and aggregation of projects, all while supporting sustainable financing options for building renovation.

InEExS and FORTESIE, our esteemed partners in this venture, brought their unique contributions to the table. InEExS focused on the integration of energy services across sectors via blockchain, enhancing cooperation and facilitating the implementation of the Energy Efficiency Directive. FORTESIE, on the other hand, developed tailored building renovation packages optimised for energy performance, CO2 reduction, and comfort, marking a significant step towards sustainable practices in the building industry.
