ENERGATE took part in the annual conference and General Assembly of the “Sustainable City” Network, held on 17 December at the Serafio Center of the Municipality of Athens. The event brought together high-level representatives from national and local government, including the Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, the Minister of State Makis Voridis, the Minister of the Interior Theodoros Livanios, the President of the “Sustainable City” Network and Secretary General of KEDE Dimitris Kafantaris, as well as dozens of mayors and municipal representatives from across Greece.

In his opening remarks, the Mayor of Athens underlined that “green energy is the key to sustainability,” highlighting the city’s initiatives in promoting energy transition and addressing energy poverty, including the operation of the Energy Poverty Support Office, established by the Municipality of Athens in collaboration with the Sustainable City Network.

Against this backdrop, ENERGATE’s participation contributed to the broader dialogue on advancing sustainable urban development and accelerating energy-efficiency upgrades in public buildings. Throughout the event, the ENERGATE team engaged with municipal leaders, technical staff, and regional authorities, presenting how the ENERGATE platform supports cities in navigating the complexities of renovation planning, project aggregation, and access to financing.

By showcasing its digital marketplace and tools designed specifically for public bodies, ENERGATE demonstrated its role in helping municipalities identify funding opportunities, improve project maturity, and connect with implementors and financiers. The event provided an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Greek local authorities and to explore future synergies in energy-efficiency interventions across municipal building portfolios.
