On 30 April 2025, ENERGATE took part in a national-level Stakeholders’ Meeting held at the European Union House in Riga, co-organized by the Riga Planning Region in collaboration with SRI ENACT and InHerit. The event brought together representatives from state institutions, municipalities, ESCOs, building owners, and public financing bodies to discuss smart building approaches and the role of ENERGATE in supporting energy-efficiency renovation projects.
The meeting focused on sharing knowledge across three complementary EU-funded initiatives, highlighting the importance of smart, data-driven, and heritage-sensitive approaches to building renovation.
Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) as a Planning Tool
Experts from the Riga Planning Region and EKODOMA presented the use of the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) as a method for planning energy-efficiency renovations. They showcased practical examples of assessing building smartness and shared lessons learned from implementing smart solutions in historic buildings.
The InHerit project’s pilot for improving the energy efficiency of the AVE SOL concert hall was also presented, demonstrating how modern technologies can support sustainable retrofitting in cultural heritage buildings.
ENERGATE Platform Presentation
Participants received an in-depth introduction to the ENERGATE platform, including:
- user profiles,
- real-time navigation of the platform,
- example use cases for building owners, ESCOs, and investors.
The platform serves as a single digital space where building owners, energy-efficiency solution providers, and financiers can connect, improving transparency and supporting standardized investment processes. Currently, 18 buildings from the Riga region are registered, with approximately 15 more expected in the near future.
ENERGATE is positioned to become a valuable pipeline of public building renovation projects, contributing directly to national efforts to identify and plan energy-efficiency improvements in line with the National Energy and Climate Plan.
