The ENERGATE Platform is a digital marketplace aiming to connect stakeholders involved in energy efficiency projects, including building owners, real estate developers, energy service companies, investors, public authorities, and financing institutions, among others.
Since its first official release on September 2024, the ENERGATE Platform has been continuously updated according to the feedback received from the users, so as to be adapted to the needs of the market. The ENERGATE team continuously tries to find new ways of facilitating matchmaking between energy efficiency projects and financiers, promoting standardisation and simplifying processes.
After numerous consultations with banks and fund managers in the project’s pilot countries, which resulted in an analysis of the needs of the financiers in the current energy efficiency landscape in Europe, the ENERGATE team is happy to announce the extension of the “Financier” profile and the inclusion of a new feature in the platform, the “financing options”. The ENERGATE platform has launched this new feature designed to facilitate the involvement of financial institutions like banks and public funds in building renovation projects. This development aims to bridge the gap between financiers and project owners, streamlining the process of connecting energy efficiency initiatives with suitable financing tools.
Through this new functionality, banks and other financial entities can now actively publish their financing products on the platform, along with the characteristics and requirements of those products. This not only increases the visibility of available funding options but also enables a more efficient matchmaking process. Once a financing scheme is uploaded, building owners (and public bodies – if the financing option is addressed to public buildings) can browse through the available options and express interest in those that align with their renovation plans. Financiers are then notified when a project matches the criteria of their offering.
This user-driven approach reduces the need for financiers to search for clients, while simultaneously giving building owners easier access to tailored financial solutions. In turn, this supports faster implementation of energy efficiency measures, contributing to the EU’s climate and energy targets.
The feature represents another step forward in ENERGATE mission to simplify and accelerate the renovation of public and private buildings across Europe through digital innovation, collaboration, and smart financing.
