As part of the ENERGATE project’s Pilot Assessment activities, a series of national factsheets has been developed to summarise the key insights, barriers, opportunities, and stakeholder recommendations emerging from engagement workshops and consultations conducted across Europe.
These factsheets capture market realities, financing challenges, digitalisation needs, and readiness levels within the energy-efficient building renovation ecosystem. They also highlight country-specific dynamics and opportunities for the future uptake of the ENERGATE platform.
🇬🇷 Greece – Stakeholder Pilot Assessment Factsheet
LDK and Greenesco organised 2 Greek Workshops in Athens, Greece, attracting financiers, implementors and building owners. The Greek factsheet presents the state of play in the energy-efficient building renovation sector, focusing on financing conditions, interest in sustainability-linked products, the role of ESCOs, and the importance of collaboration across municipal and private stakeholders. It also provides recommendations on monitoring, standardisation of metrics, and improved access to funding information.

🇪🇸 Spain – Stakeholder Pilot Assessment Factsheet
COMMUTY attended to MIPIM and Expo Real events. The Spanish factsheet summarises key insights gathered during stakeholder engagement at Expo Real and MIPIM. It covers investment and financing trends, the growing relevance of structured finance, the higher appetite for greenfield developments, and the market’s expectations for platform maturity. It also outlines conditions for adoption and opportunities for future platform growth.

🇱🇻 Latvia – Stakeholder Pilot Assessment Factsheet
Riga Planning Region organised 2 events, one Workshop and one Webinar, attracting financiers and public bodies. The Latvia factsheet highlights several challenges faced by financial institutions, such as limited internal expertise for assessing energy-efficiency projects, insufficient availability of building data, and the current use of traditional loan products rather than specialised financing instruments. It also points to the value of tools such as the Smart Readiness Indicator for guiding renovation planning.

🇮🇹 Italy – Stakeholder Pilot Assessment Factsheet
Enerbrain organised 2 events, one Workshop and one Webinar, attracting financiers, implementors and building owners. The Italian factsheet covers two areas. The first outlines challenges in financing energy-efficiency renovations, including limited readiness among building owners, data-sharing barriers, and the need for improved communication between technical and financial stakeholders. The second highlights opportunities for ENERGATE’s uptake, such as simplified user experience, integration of funding information, and interoperability with existing digital tools.
